Weekend getaway trip to the Blue Mountains
Blue Mountains is a great place for bushwalking, but plan ahead on what you want to bring with you as you might end up with a sore back.
This long weekend, Chibi and I drove up to the Blue Mountains hoping for some peace, zen and relaxing bush walking. Turns out to be a rock concert full of cicadas and mountain climbing!
We were very unfortunate to encounter the cicadas as they were simply everywhere. We could not avoid them at all. They were creepy, ugly and LOUD. Whilst I always respect nature for what it is, I simply cannot stand cicadas.
Aside from that, we tackled the Wentworth falls trail and I brought my gear along (including tripod) hoping to get some good waterfall pictures. It was the middle of the day at around 10-12pm so the sun and mercury was pretty high. Going down was easy but climbing back up with all my gear was challenging. Good thing I work out.
Other places we went to include the 3 Sisters as we stayed at 3 Sisters Motel which was only a 5 minute walk up the road. I managed to snap some cool sunset shots and a cool HDR.
Lastly we made a trip up to the Blue Mountains Botanic Gardens only to more cicadas rather than flowers. It got so bad that we simply gave up and went back to the hotel.
