Shark Bay photo shoot on Australia Day

Chibi and I decided to take a stroll down at Shark Bay for some photos this Australia day. Too bad we didn’t know it would be packed with people!

I think public holidays, especially Australia Day should be spent at home, or at a bbq cooking lamb at someones place. Forget about the beach because chances are it’d be crowded as hell.

I picked shark bay because I thought there could be some great scenes, a combination of beach, bush and cliff sides. We did a lot of walking as we tried to find a good place to settle. Shark Bay was just crazy, the beach and park was just packed with people we could hardly find a place to sit down!

I had intended to use this day to test out my new canon 70-300mm f4-5.6 so I was quite excited about it. So after a while we found this other unpleasant looking beach with some really rocky sand and there was barely anyone! The beach itself wasn’t very nice but I quite like the way some of the photos turned out.

Afterwards we went to Ippudo for a nice bowl of Hakata style ramen. It was really good! except pricey. I would probably go there only once a year. We then headed down to Darling harbour to finish our day with some pretty cool fireworks.
